I'm going through some of my notes
I found letter from you about the family
Francoeur, and since I've finally found
where they lived and died and last
week I got a letter from lady in N.O.
who is also from this line. She said
she had spent a lot of money and time
searching for information on these people
and still knew very little about them.
I haven't spent a lot of money, but lots
of time on them, and maybe she and
I together can make pretty fair history
on them. I'll send you what I have
if you don't have. Francoeur was a
Canadian, or his father was. As Jay
Higganbottom in his book "Old Mobile"
speaks of them as "the Canadians". Am
prettier sure Claud was his father, and I
found three Francoeurs in 1723 in
New Orleans, two married and one not
the single one I'm sure. As he married
1735 to Marie Chevallier from N.O. news
papers by Larry Hewitt Forsyth. (Alice's husband)
Found this in New Orleans Genis.
