I regret that it did not work out that we could visit when I was in New
Orleans. Miss Lambert told me that you only worked part of a day and it
is unfortunate that you were already commited the day I called...but maybe
the next time! One of these days I am going to arrive with enough un-
committed time of my own to do more than just run in and out of a few
places. This time we had my mother-in-law along and it does not give one
much latitude in managing time when you have a group to fit around. Enjoyed
very much a few days with the sons and catching up with how much the grandson
has developed since Christmas. Went with Marc and Rose to service at the
church in East New Orleans (can't remember the name) but it was an interestingly
different modern building and superb music by a black youth choir.
I have several references that I feel tie in with stories presently under
investigation. One is the Daigle line in Arkansas. Records here show Ark.
ones come from Etienne Daigle and Angelique LaPrade. You gave me the Bpt.
record for Angeique LarPade from BkI:12. I have her parents marriage from
1720-30 marriage records page 71. What I am seeking is confirmation that
Angelique Girardy is the daughter of same Joseph Girardy that was married
to Marie Jean Henry by possibly a previous marriage. Angelique Girardy
had been previously married to Alain Dugue. I wonder if you could give me
this record from the MARRIAGE RECORDS 1720-1730 and these others with
Ark. connections while in same book:
Aneglique [Angelique] Girardy to Alain Dugue 49
Marie Jeanne Girardy to Paul Barre 45
Etienne Degle to Susanne Desperon 21
Louis Guiscard to Marie Coignard 66
In BAPTISMAL BOOK II (1744-1753) I think these will enlarge on other Ark.
Button and Montpierre 213
Montpierre and Buton 212
Hery and Chenet 177,228
Meunier and Tatibot 9, 149
Lepino and Vaulle 217
I found in the GENESIS Index to Funeral Register 1784-1793: CHEREL 11 and
CHEVAL1 68. I am still looking for Anne Catherine Cheval, Chenal's death
record...married 1st to Jean Francois Lepine and 2nd to Charles Lincto and
pre-1750 Ark. resident.
At your convenience, of course, and Always appreciate. It would be a pleasure
to visit over lunch or dinner sometime. Would it be appropriate...or presumptious
for me to suggest?
