Nice hearing from you - will attempt to get this off today, sort of
thought the flow of research would let up about this time, due to
people thinking of "income tax", such as has happened the past years.
This year, however, seems to be different.
St. Louis Cathedral Baptismal Book III (1753-1759)
ETIENNE GAUDIET, aged 2 1/2 years, baptized 9 June 1758 son of EXUPER
GAUDIET and of MARGUERITTE BOTSON. Godparents: ETIENNE DASLE and
MADELEINE SEIGNE. /s/ Etienne Daigle
ETIENNE GAUDIET born 30 May 1758 baptized 10 September 1758 son of
EXUPERT (HUBERT ?) GAUDIET and of MARGUERITE BOTSON. Godparents:
ETIENNE BIENVENU and MARIANNE LEPINE.
Seems strange the first child baptized June 1758 also, but must have
died before the second was baptized and given the same name.
S.L.C. Book IV (1759-1762)
MARGUERITTE DARAN baptized 11 August 1762 daughter of FRANCOIS DARAN
cannonier, and of MARGUERITTE GODINETTE. Godparents: Sieur de LIONET
and MARGUERITTE RILIEUX THOMASSIN.
Incidentally page 108, same book, has baptism of MARIE FELICITE born
30 March 1762 baptized 18 August 1762 daughter of PIERRE LAVIGNE and of
guard of the warehouse at the Post of Arkansas, and of Dame JEANNE
RILLIEUX. Godparents: GILBERT ST. MAXENT, merchant, and of MARIE
Could not find anything on the funeral of ANNE CATHERINE CHEVAL, I
only have 7 funerals during the month of February 1785, so I also
checked April (besides the index). It appears that she married LINCTO
around 1744, and of course, we have no marriages for that period.
Perhaps it will appear in the civil marriage contracts, and as I do not have
my copy, cannot check for you.
Hope the above is of some help and with all good wishes for a Happy
healthy 1980 to you and your family, I am
Alice D. Forsyth
