1. Although no explanation or reason for my dismissal has been given by the Board of Trustees of the University, I have been requested by the Arkansas Gazette to make a statement. In making this statement I have no desire to embarrass further Governor Adkins or his six appointees. I merely wish to state a few simple facts which, in my view of a mas of rumors may assist the friends of the university in evaluating the true significance of the governors “Shake-up”.
