Reel 307, Item 6
The Judgment Day
I dreamed that the great judgment morning Had dawned and the trumpet had blown,
I dreamed that the nations had gathered In judgment before the White Throne.
Chorus:
Then oh, what a weeping and wailing When the lost were told of their fate;
They cried for the rocks and the mountains,
They prayed, but their prayers were too late.
The rich man was there, but his money Had melted and vanished away;
And Lazarus in Abraham's bosom Rejoicing upon that bright day.
Chorus
The archangels sounded the trumpet As he stood on the land and the sea,
And cried with his voice raised to heaven That time no longer could be.
Chorus
The clergyman pled for repentance;
Hot tonight, we'll be saved by-and-by.
Ho time now to think of religion,
But at last they had found time to die.
