Reel 334, Item 4
The Little Mohee
As I was out walking For pleasure one day,
To see the creation I scarcely could say
As I sat amusing Myself in the shade,
There was none to come there But a young Indian maid.
She sit down beside me And took holt of my hand,
She sang, You are a stranger And in a strange land.
But if you will follow,
You re welcome to come And cheer with myself In a snug little home.
The sun was fast sinking Far over the sea,
While I was out walking With the little Mohee.
Together we ramble,
Together we roam,
Till we came to a cottage And a coconut tree.
Well, the last time I saw her,
She stood on a strand,
and as the ship sailed by her,
She waved her little hand.
Sing, whenever you get home To the girl that you love,
Just think of the Mohee And the coconut grove.
Well now I'm safe landed Upon the seashore,
Surrounded by friends And companions once more.

Well in this wide world Many beauties could see,
But there is none to compare with The little Mohee.
