One Day I Thought I'd Take A Swim In the Water
One day I thought I'd take a swim inthe water,
I hadn't took one since a year ago,
For it I didn't want to pay a quarter,
So I went down to the brook where it was low.
I hung my clothes on an apple tree close by shore,
Then jumped into the water very quick,
A lady came and say down beside them,
From nine inthe morning 'til six.
Under the shade of the old apple tree,
The water was up to my knees,
I had to lay down while the lady was around,
So only my face she could see.
The bees were stingin' my nose,
The fish were bitin' my toes,
I stayed there all day 'til the lady went away,
From the shade of that old apple tree.
