Reel 106, Item 5
Fox Hunters
(Bold Ranger )
Come, all you jolly hunters who love to chase the fox;
Who love to chase Borranders among the hills and rocks;
Tum a high bo,bo,
Tum a high oh lo,
Along the merry stream,
Turn a riddle diddle dan,
Turn a riddle diddle dan,
Rollin' bow-wow dogs.
And a yank fol didden and a bugle horn,
Yank fol didden to my didy oh.
The first man we met was a man a-peddling ox; some combs;
He said he saw Borranders a-gnawing on some bones:
Turn a high, etc.
The next man we met was a man by the name of Tree;
He said he saw Borranders run up a holler tree.
Tum a high, etc.
The next one we met was a man by the name of Huff;
He said he saw Borranders dead and half eat up.
Tum a high, etc.
"I missed on that, and got some of it a little wrong; but then I guess
you can understand it."
