My Dearest One. Italy April 3/44 Hello Sweet & how is my best girl to-night? As for myself I am fine. I just got back from rest camp to-day. Had very nice time and a good rest. I really dident need the rest as far as work goes. I havent had a great deal to-do lately. I wrote you a couple of V-mail while I was gone but thought since I got three letters when I came back, and the mail orderley brought me two letters and your very lovely easter cards that I would just write a air mail. Honey I am glad you were able to help your Dad pay for the place. And if he has trouble making the rest of the payments you go ahead & take care of them. Also am glad you helped Dad & Mother Holt with the boxes & stuff. I wrote you a few days ago about them, so you can let me know what you've found out. We are sure having some pretty weather, the nights a still pretty cool but the days are nice & warm. Well sweet I visited the ruins of Pompei while I was on pass. Little did I even think when I read about it in history that I would some day see them. Honey you asked me if I could see Mt Vesuvies, no we can't see it from where we are, but I did get to see it while it was still spouting flame & Lava. The other day
