Brussels, Belgium Nov. 8, 1945 My Dearest Snooky, The clerk at headquarters just called me on the phone and said he had to have papers showing your parents’ consent – since you are under 21. Here’s what you do: Have your mom or dad to write out in script their consent – like this: “Our daughter, Miss Rosemary Snook, age 18, of 179 Krison Rd. E. Howe Bournemouth Eng., has our (her parents) consent to marry Sgt. Geo. Fisher, 18169625 of Hq. Chan. Base Sec. U.S. Army.” Then the signatures of both your mom and dad. Please get this done as soon as you can, will you, Snooky? They have to have it before they can do anything else. Everything else seems to be going okay. I’ll try to wire you 20 pounds tonight for the ring. Don’t have time to write more. Just had to send you this information on the army’s time – but I’ll write you a longer letter tomorrow. Love Always, George P.S. It might be a good idea if you will send this through the American Red Cross. Letters get to American personnel much faster through the American post office. I know they’ll be glad to take care of it.
