Farkleberry Legend Lives at FNB

On Friday, September 19, Mr. Vinson presided
at the formal opening festivities of THE FARKLEBERRY,
the new restaurant/pub located on Concourse
One of our building. Keyed to the works of
Arkansas artist George Fisher, the pub decor features
over 120 new caricatures of prominent
Arkansans and 13 editorial cartoons. Mr. Fisher's
editorial cartoons have appeared in Arkansas newspapers for more than 15 years and have been the
central subjects of his four books on Arkansas politics
and life. Winner of several national cartooning
awards, Mr. Fisher was assisted with the 'ribbon'
cutting of farkleberry bush twigs by his wife, Rosemary,
a well-known potter and artist, and Mr.
Visitors will be able to express their own editorial
cartooning ability while they await their food
order. The placemats have "The Farkleberry Forum"
printed on white paper with eight unfinished
Those honored with having their caricature hung
in the restaurant signed "The Hall of Frame." This
parchment sheet features the signatures of those
hung on the walls. The caricatures will change from
time to time, but through the "Hall" persons will
be remembered for their place in the Fisher
