Ella Harrison Carnall was a teacher in the Preparatory Department from 1881-1884 and an associate professor of English and modern languages from 1891-1894. Carnall Hall, named for Ella Harrison Carnall, opened in 1906 as the first women’s dormitory on campus. After major renovation, the building reopened in 2003 as the Inn at Carnall Hall and Ella’s Restaurant.
