Reel 356, Item 14
Streets of Laredo
(Learned from a boy at the Kappa Sig house.)
As I walked out in the streets of Laredo,
As I walked out in Laredo one day,
I spied a young cowboy all dressed in white linen,
As dressed in white linen as cold as the clay.
Oh beat the drums slowly and play the fifes lowly,
Play the death march as you carty me along,
Take me to the green valley, there lay the sod o'er me,
For I'm a young cowboy and I know I done wrong.
We beat the drums slowly, we played the fifes lowly,
Played the death march as we carried him along,
For we all loved our comrade, so brave, young, and handsome, We all loved our comrade although he dome wrong.
