When the Spirit Takes Its Flight
Sinner listen to his message As it comes to one and all,
If you fail to heed its warning,
It will surely mean your fall.
If you miss it you'll regret it,
It will leave your soul as dark as night;
Oh, the weeping and the wailing,
When the spirit takes its flight.
Jesus said to go and preach it For the message is for you;
If you reject him as your Savior,
He'll reject beyond the blue.
While the spirit now is pleading, Now's the time for you to come; You'll be sad and you'll regret it When this gospel work is done.
Soon this gospel willbe over,
And our pleading will be through; Then without the blood of cleansing, There will be no room for you.
Ark.When the Spirit Takes Its Flight continued
Soon the Savior will be coming,
What will sinners have to say;
There will be no time for mercy,
There will he no time to pray.
Mrs. E.N. Campbell got this from Miss Ruth Howardton of Truman. She sang it as Lawrence about 1930. She said she had never seen this song in print.
