I'll Give You One More as You Go
My sweetheart's a shy little miss,
She's a gal that I fondly adore,
When I ask her for a kiss,
She'll give me just one and no more.
I called at her house Sunday night,
I asked for a kiss as a beau;
She answered me a fright,
"Don't squeeze me so tight,
I'll give you one more as you go."
Her dad was a feelin' old man,
He was always a-feelin' for me;
I can remember when the feelin' began,
When his daughter I first went to see.
I was biddin' my sweetheart good-by,
In the usual manner, you know,
He exclaimed with a swear,
His foot smote the air,
"I'll give you one more as you go."
Oh the dog, that dog what a brute.'
He was on me quick as a flash;
He got stuck on my eight dollar suit,
He made me a subject for hash.
I went over the garden wall,
In a manner I'll tell you not slow;
When a voice from the house
Says, "Go, sic him, Towse;"
I'll give you one more as you go.
