Perhaps you have heard of Frank and Jessie James,
And the Younger boys from the West;
They was driven from their homes, the world to oppose,
'Twas Frank and Jessie James.
Jessie and Frank robbed the Northfield bank,
They stopped the UP train;
They would fall upon their knees and deliver up the keys
To Frank and Jessie James.
Jessie had a wife, she was a lady all her life,
And the children they were brave.
'Twas the dirty little coward that shot Mr. Howard
And laid Jessie James in his grave.
He was standing straight and tall, dusting pictures on the wall
No thought of danger nor fear;
When he went to turn his head, Robert Ford shot him dead,
And they laid Jessie James in his grave.
All the people held their breath, when they heard of Jessie's death
And they wondered how on earth he came to die.
It was the great reward that tempted Robert Ford
To kill Jessie James on the sly.
