Reel 381; Item 17
JUST AS THE SUN WEST DOWN
Just at the close of the valley Just at the close of day Wounded and weary upon the ground Two dieing soldiers lay.
One littering bit of thin gray hair, The other a lock of brown.
Bidding each other their last farewell Just as the sun went down.
A father a mother at home Feeble and old and gray.
One with a sweetheart he left in town Happy and young and gay.
