Reel 389 Item 4
The Final Pay Day
You may talk about your jolly good times And the life you used to live;
When you were in for every thing The world and the devil could give You may work or rest as suits you best And so live out your days
But I'll give you a pointer about my own choice I'm in for the life that pays.
Oh, an that final pay day To which we all must come,
The Lord will pay the wages For the work that an have done The wages of sin is death you know.
Not any of that for me
There's nothing but evil, fan serving the devil On pay day do you see?
Now it isn't on every Saturday night That the Lord squares up his account And it isn't the first of every month
That you get your full amount
The souls who have lived in sin and shame
Have not drawn all their pay
At last 'twill be found, that with interest compound, It was laid up against that day.
Now think before you sell your soul For the sins you love so will,
Mill it pay my friend fan you to spend Your eternity in hell You never can live life over again When once it has flown away,
So hasten to choose, or your soul you will lose,
And I ask you will it pay?
