Young Emla was a lady fair, she loved a driver boy,
Who sailed all over the ocean for gatherin' lots of gold.
And after seven long years, returning home again,

Young Henry to his father did say, "With his money we'll make a

When next morning young Emla arise, to her parents she did say,
"Oh, where, oh where is that young man that came here for to stay?"
"He's gone to dwell, no tongue can tell, all down in the Low and
"My truelove was a honest man, he died a honest death,
My brother is a robber, he robbed me of my rest.
Cruel Father, cruel Father, you'll die a public show,
For the murdering of my driver boy that driven the Low and Low.
"Those willow trees on yonder cliff are bending to and fro,
