Butter For The Boarder
AW: And then my sister-in-law she went out in the
country to teach school one year and she was
boarding at a certain farmhouse. Lovely folks.
And butter at that time was twenty-five cents
a pound. So at the table the old lady would
pass the butter, say, "Law, Honey, eat all you
want. Butter's twenty-five cents a pound."
She was in hopes she wouldn't eat it because
she could get twenty-five cents for it. But
they were sweet, dear souls.
