Reel 72, Item 4
Fol de Rol de Hold, All Day
There was an old woman as I've heard tell
Foldy Roldy Roldy Roldy Rold All Day
She went to market, her eggs for to sell
(The refrain follows each line)
She went to market upon a summer's day
She fell asleep upon the King's highway
Along came an his name was Stout
He cut her petticoats all round about
He cut her petticoats up to her knees
Then the little woman began for to freeze
She began to shiver and she began to shake
She began to sneeze and she began to wake
She began to wake and she began to cry
Good lackadaisy, to think that it is I .
If this be I as I suppose it be
I've a little dog at home and he'll know me
If this be I, he'll wag his little tail,
If it be not I, he'll only bark and wail.
Home went the little woman all in the dark
Then the little doggy began for to bark
He began to beck and she began to cry
Good lackadaisy this ben't a bit of I.
