Reel 413, Item 3
Oh, where is my books,
They are taken away.
My shoe string all in a knot,
Though I thought I placed them As safe as could be.
Do Lucy look for my Atlas upstairs,
My reader is there somewhere, too.
And, sister, brush down these troublesome hairs,
And, mother, please fasten my shoe.
And, sister, ask father to write an excuse For, stop, he is going to say No,
Go on with a smile, while reading the news,
While everything troubles me so.
My satchel is heavy and ready to fall,
And this pop gum is breaking my mouth
I'll have nothing to do with this pop-gum ball,
For there is no such a place for such a poor chap.
I wish I had not lingered at breakfast, at last,
Though the butter and toast was fine,
Edward, I think you had better eat pretty fast
To be off and I haven't done mine.
Now Edward and Harry, they test their wants They'll beat on the door with their sticks Suppose they say, "I'm dressing too late,
But tomorrow I'll be up at six."
