Wagener: "Fruit medium to almost large, oblate to roundish oblate, broadly ribbed, sides often unequal; skin thin, tough, waxy, smooth, pale yellow mostly shaded with pinkish or brownish red and striped with pale carmine, often with a thin bloom; dots numerous, whitish or russet; stem variable but usually about an inch long in a large, broad, irregular cavity; calyx usually closed; basin abrupt and somewhat corrugated; flesh white or yellowish, fine-grained, crisp, juicy, aromatic, sprightly subacid."
